Before Avatar: The Last Airbender, there was Samurai Jack, which pioneered the American-cartoon-with-anime-influences-kinda genre.
Man, Toonami was awesome, wasn’t it? This delicious art by Jeffrey ‘Chamba’ Cruz is just bringing it aaalllllllll back.
ZhuZhu is one of those artists whose work appears to be a myriad of random brush strokes for a while and who then adds a few final touches and BAM — gorgeous fully realized picture. It’s an astounding talent, frankly.

Reblogged from the artist Mudron, who drew this glorious Fleischer Bros-style tribute to The Legend of Korra for Carla Speed McNeil.

There’s just too much glorious Legend of Korra art out there right now that I find it hard to resist including at least one a week. I mean, how sublime are the above paintings by the amazingly talented Danielle DeMartini?
The rich colours and the perfectly executed textures… It feels like you could reach out and touch the water and fire.

Oh look, another piece of Legend of Korra art by Tumblr artist Ellsie — where could that have come from?

I like that artist Chocosweete’s peaceful portrait of Korra echoes Native American art styles as the Water Tribes’ cultures have major similarities to our Inuits. It’s a great tie in!

Tumblr artist Yamino may have found the strangest romantic pairing yet: Princess Yue who became the moon spirit and Avatar Korra.
I’m not entirely against this lol

I adore how Lone-Momo took the 1920s references in The Legend of Korra and turned the dial to 11. And with Stephan McGowan’s colours, this picture may even be an outright 12.
