Awesome Alt Art

Although Nina Matsumoto’s artistic style in this picture couldn’t be further from Bill Watterson’s, the mischievous spirit of these two beloved characters shines right through.

Calvin and Hobbes is probably still my number one favourite comic strip. I love stumbling across art of them grown up, like this beautiful piece by Nami86.

I haven’t presented alt art from Calvin and Hobbes — one of the greatest comic strips of all time — here in a while and Jaime Posadas’s above piece was too adorable to pass by.

Mike Henry (Zatransis on DeviantArt) may not be the first or last artist to imagine Calvin’s future daughter inheriting Hobbes, but I love the sense of whimsy expressed here.
