Artist and illustrator Coran Stone created a Call of Duty style series of Super Mario Brothers themed illustrations. Coran’s inspiration for these bad ass pieces of art derives from his artist pal Jake Castorena and girlfriend’s awesome Mushroom Kingdom Special Forces Halloween costumes.

It’s Video Game Tuesday!
And I quoth the magnificent artist German Guzik:
“The galaxy was at its darkest hour… The Princess was kidnapped by the ruthless King Bowser and no one was there to face the challenge. The galaxy needed heroes, and the Toad Brigade was there!A team like the world had never seen before. Conformed by a select group of elite fearless Toads, they teamed up to save the Princess. The great hero Luigi and the lovable Rosalina were there to help, but the way was full of unthinkable dangers. Here they are:Red. The daring leader of the group. Always concerned by the safety of his partners, he is brave enough to go head to head against King Bowser himself. Blue. The brains of the group, is smart and wise. A master tactician, always with new things to learn and teach. Purple. A tireless voyager and master of infiltration. Stealthy enough to get into and out of Bowser´s castle to get valuable news form The Princess. He is also a flawless swimmer.Yellow is cheerful and optimist even in the darkest places of the universe. Kind and easygoing, he keeps high the moral of the group. A smile is always on his face. Green is a mechanic of unparallel skills. The strong arm of the group, he mixes his love for explosives and cannons with his humongous physical strength. They became a legend. The legend of the Toad Brigade!”

Feast your eyes on this incredible piece by Tumblr artist Jo, who says:
“The Nintendo DS is probably my favorite console along with my trusty old school PS2. DS sports many of my favorite series, so I figured I can cram them all into one picture since I’m too lazy to draw separate pictures of each.”
There is a total of 47 characters from 16 different games in this piece.
Can you name them all?

Kevin Bolk’s comics series It Sucks to be Weegie is fairly infamous across the land of the internet these days. But in case you have yet to experience its hilarity, here’s a taste.

Oh my god, this should be a sticker!
Alec Tree calls this fun piece Bros in Arms, which I like rather much. It’s such a cute, stylized piece.

I love that Ken Wong named this alt art of his Mario Dreams. Look at all the goodies you can find!
My faves are the Shy Guy and the Bob-omb.

Anthony Jones (aka Robotpencil on DeviantArt) painted this wicked interpretation of Nintendo’s Princess Peach for a series he did on reinterpreting the Mario Brothers franchise.
Apparently, in 2007, Peach landed on Forbes magazine’s Wealthiest Fictional People list, with a fortune upwards of $1 billion. Who knew?
You can check out Jones’ equally awesome interpretations of Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Wario, and Toad in his online gallery. Do it.
