Daniel Hinojosa has captured my heart with this retro illustration of America’s classic superhero, Superman.

The Superman comics were created in 1932 — which means this is a fictional character that is 80 years old. How amazing is that?

It’s TV Show Monday!
To quote Eniat, who recommended the above for a Daily Deviation:
“If there’s something I enjoy about Fan Art it’s the opportunity to see your favourite characters in situations or places you wouldn’t normally see them in canon.”
Such is the case with this bizarrely captivating Hey Arnold! art by Najja Porter. I like it and have no idea why.

It’s Video Game Tuesday!
I can’t even begin to describe how entranced I am with Kendrick Lim’s phenomenal depiction of Lina from Valve’s upcoming action-fantasy strategy game, Dota 2.
Alice X. Zhang (an artist whose work I have featured here a number of times) nominated this piece for a Daily Deviation and also had this to say about it:
“This painting is so striking, the composition is simply amazing. I love how it is so fiery hot at the top then cools down as your eye moves down the piece. I love the design of the character and the excellent detail in her costume as well as the flame-dragon. Wonderful fantasy work!”

These renditions of the ladies of Scooby Doo earned Qiqo a fair amount of fame and a Daily Deviation in 2008, which proclaimed the Velma drawing delightful, bright, colorful and just plain beautiful!
