Not entirely sure which movie Henrik had in mind when drawing this portrait of Audrey Tautou but it’s so goddamn gorgeous, I don’t even care.

This beautiful pencil and red drawing by Viktoria Voronko is only the second piece of Sayonara Zetsubou-Sensei (Goodbye, Mr. Despair in English) that I’ve posted. Mainly because the story is so bizarre that the anime hasn’t really hit the mainstream in a big way.

I don’t know how Charlene Wienhold does it, but she takes watercolours and pencils and magic like this picture suddenly come into being. Even after following the tutorial of her process, I can’t imagine how to imbue so much emotion and warmth into a painting.
She also just opened her Etsy shop!

Carrie-Ko’s flowing depiction of Amy Pond from Doctor Who could just carry you away into a dreamscape.
Here’s a snippet from the artist about her inspiration.
“Whoever chose Florence + The Machine’s Cosmic Love as the trailer music for Series 5 knew what they were doing. I only found this song a few days ago, and I’ve fallen in love with it, but not just because it’s a beautiful song. I think it accurately reflects the bond (romantic or not) that Amy and the Doctor share, particularly as it was in Series 5.”

Although Glee has very much jumped the shark and I can’t stomach a full episode of it anymore, I’ll always be a fan of Santana and Brittany’s relationship as it was explored in seasons one and two.
So I present to you Marlene Freimanis’s charming pencil drawing as a toast to the good old days.

Audrey Hepburn took my breath away when, as the title character, she appeared in Sabrina wearing this gorgeous dress. Matthew Jackson’s depiction of it somehow manages to do it justice, even in pencil.
I love this little snippet the artist included with his drawing:
“When Audrey Hepburn was sent to the Parisian designer Hubert de Givenchy, he was sent a message saying ‘Miss Hepburn is coming to pick out several dresses for her new movie, Sabrina.’
Givenchy was unfamiliar with the new gamine actress Audrey Hepburn and anticipated the arrival of the famous Katherine. However, the tall and slender gamine Audrey showed up on his doorstep. He told her that sorry, he was busy designing for the next Givenchy collection but she insisted.
Their compromise was for her to simply select dresses from his last collection. Her choices were the charcoal dress-suit with white turban/hat, black bateaux neckline cocktail dress and the most beautiful of the three, a white organza dress beaded with ivory and onyx beads and black silk thread, complete with detachable train.
The scene she wore this dress is proof of her charm, grace, and exquisite beauty.”

How gorgeous is this profile drawing by Sayuri Eyes of Giselle from Enchanted? This is clearly a labour of love.

I have recently fallen head over heels in love with Barbra Streisand after watching (and rewatching) her play Fanny Brice in Funny Girl, her first movie and consequently her first Oscar.
So naturally I jumped at the chance to share with y’all Matthew Jackson’s gorgeous graphite portrait of her from the film.
